South Coast Walk
VIA will continue the second of the series of the Union Flag Walks starting on the 14th of August 2010 where a team will walk from Land's End to Dover. This is a walk of approximately 600 miles along the South Coast of the UK and will take 10 days to complete. This walk will form the outside edge of the Union Flag.
The team is made up of veterans who have suffered from PTSD and the team will be fundraising along the route where permission has been granted. The proceeds of this walk will be split between VIA and Villas 4 Veterans to help support the physical as well as psychologically injured veterans.

Brave twin brothers scarred by war tell of physical and mental injuries

They are two faces of war and self-sacrifice... brave twin brothers Tom and Shaun James. They risked their lives on the frontline in Afghanistan and returned cruelly ravaged by the bloody, brutal conflict. But while Tom’s devastating injuries – a missing eye, an arm blown off – are clear to see, Shaun’s are invisible, locked inside his head. For Shaun is battling the psychological aftermath of combat with crippling post-traumatic stress disorder.

3 PEAKS CHALLENGE - 24 July 2010
As a continuation of what was achieved on The Longest Try a task was set to two of the guys who took part, Daz Hennessy and Dave Davies. The task that was set for them was to organise and take part in the 3 Peaks Challenge.
The reason for the tasking is to give the guys purpose after the walk and a personal challenge in order for them to move forward with their own confidence and self esteem.
The pair will be setting a time for the challenge which VIA will record and this time will be 'The Challenge'.
Over the next year VIA will be asking people to get sponsored to beat the time set by Daz and Dave or to just do it as a personal challenge and the event will be run by them both if guides are needed and VIA will run the support vehicles.
This will be the first of many challenges that those taking part in our events will do as a way of moving them on after the events have finished. It is also a way for those who take part in our events to stay involved and catch up with others who they have met on the walks.

The Challenge will start on Saturday the 24th of July 2010 at 1900 from Ben Nevis then move on to Scafell Pike and then onto Snowdon and will be completed within 24hours or less.......
