Gary McGregor

After seven and a half years in the Royal Engineers and gaining the rank of Full Corporal and passing the tough Army Compressed Air Divers course, Gary decided to leave the service after many tours in the UK, Germany and Norway to name but a few.
Upon leaving the service, he became a Retained Firefighter and self employed Painter and Decorator. He was then accepted for Wholetime Firefighter Duties and is still serving. He has just finished two years secondment at the Scottish Fire Service College as an Instructor training new Trainees and teaching Wholetime personnel in different aspects of the fire service, Breathing Apparatus Instructor, Road Traffic Collision Instructor, Fire Behaviour Instructor, Tactical Ventilation Instructor, Urban Search and Rescue Technician.
Gary is currently training as a White Water Raft Guide and just finished a White Water Rescue Course. He will also be working towards becoming a Canoe Instructor to train veterans that Veteran In Action work with.
Gary is Team Leader (Scotland) with a growing team of volunteers and is working towards becoming qualified in the Veterans In Action Communications and Leadership Skills.
