VIA Foundation Communication & Leadership Course
Veterans In Action ran it's first Foundation Communications and Leadership Course which started on Friday the 3rd of June and finished on the 6th of June.
The course was run by Paul Boag (Mind, Body NLP) and assisted by Billy MacLeod and was attended by 10 veterans who are taking part on the ALIVE Program. The course was a great success and enjoyed by everyone who took part and the delivery from Paul was top class.
This course is the first in three stages of quailification courses that Veterans In Action will be running so that our team can communicate the best way with the veterans taking part on the ALIVE Program.
The course is certified and accredited by Paul Boag a trainer of the American Board of Neuro Linguistig Programming (ABNLP).
"What did I find with the course? I believe understanding how we communicate is a valuable insight to self development and it could be argued that what we have learnt is a valuable tool to that self development, just as a child learns to communicate each step is a new learning until they reach a point whereby they are consciously competent with their communication.
Just as someone learns a new language they also start to go through a process of relearning having to unlearn what they have learnt (their native tongue) to develop their new relearning of a new language the steps are challenging, rewarding and self gratifying on a personal achievement level.
The active participation of everyone on the course was for me simulating and challenging, thank you all for your donation towards my self development.
The future of your development is in hand as we speak, VIA's intention is to create a closed group training forum to assist people who wish to advance their learning's echoing a principle ethos of VIA's".

"This course was very well presented and delivered, the communication and leadership techniques I gained through the four days has given me additional techniques to work with the veterans on the ALIVE programme. It was also a good opportunity for the teams from the other areas to get know each other outside of the fund raising activities.
